thrifty tuesday.

I'm an admitted thriftaholic. It's true. Tuesdays are my days, mostly because of the alliteration that 'Thrifty Tuesday' brings, but also just because it usually turns out that way.

And yesterday, on my way to my fave shops, I kept thinking that I wish people realized that there are gems EVERYWHERE, not just in your local boutique. They're in your area Goodwill, Salvation Army, or in this case, Yahweh Thrift Store.

So today I'm vowing to share my thrift finds with you, in hopes you'll be reminded to look beyond the $90 goblets and start with the basics.

Behold... my fave thrift finds from yesterday:

I'd put this piece on a little midcentury nightstand in a modernist room. It's just so... wooden.

Ok here's the deal. I don't have kids, and I probably won't for sometime, but how adorable is this little circus rocking chair? It's PERFECTLY upholstered and in such good shape, and I would just make this cute thing the focal point of any kid's room.

Loooooove these lamps. The pics just DON'T do the chocolate brown shades ANY justice.

I want this in my entryway. Big time. Feel free to convince my husband of it, k?

Duh. A tray. Speaks for itself. I LOVE the embroidery underneath the glass.

Ooh! A lady in the night! Anywhere is a good place for the random kitsch.

Thanks for sharing! I'm a thriftaholic too! Oh gosh, I'd rather be thrifting right now instead of working. Ah thank God for blogs.

Ha, Peggy. You are ADORABLE!

welcome.

because beauty lies in the details of design. in the pencil shavings, in the blueberry waffles. the vintage dress, framed portrait, old postcard.

design is inevitable. celebrated. design for mankind.
