trend alert: panimals.

[print from eveline tarunadjaja]

At least that's what I call them. You know what I'm talking about: people with animal traits, or animals with people traits. Either/or. Regardless, my husband thinks they're totally creepy, and I think they're ridiculously adorable. And it looks like 2008 agrees with my side of the story, b/c the trend is still going strong (for the first four days at least!).

Below are a few of my fave Panimal Artists, and then some. Enjoy, and never forget that humans are just a few chromosomes away from animals, anyway! [Ok, that might not be true. Fact checker?]

Many of these pieces I really like. They all have a little bit similar style :)

I think opinions may largely split down gender lines. My vote is with Ken, with the exception of the man with the unicorn mask. I wish I would have had that for halloween.

LOVE these!! I'm definitely inspired by this trend as well. Also thanks for stopping by the blog a while back and wishing me well on my LA home! happy 2008 ~ I'm really enjoying a visit to your beautiful blog.

welcome.

because beauty lies in the details of design. in the pencil shavings, in the blueberry waffles. the vintage dress, framed portrait, old postcard.

design is inevitable. celebrated. design for mankind.
