I know I posted about Marimekko last week, but come on?! This one's a specialty...

Anna is a fantastic Scandinavian designer whose first printed fabrics appeared in Marimekko's 2001 spring line. Since then, her widely popular graphic prints have been sold in international chains and small shoppes nationwide.

My favorite part of Anna's design strategy is that although her pieces are highly trendy, they're also seemingly timeless. I have no idea how that's possible, but you see what I mean.

She quotes, "Through my designs, I want to transmit my passion for patterns, their construction, the endless possibility to link parts together and make a total impression. A fabric’s effect on its surroundings fascinates me. I try to give each pattern a life of its own: temperament, temperature and rhythm."

Love her!

welcome.

because beauty lies in the details of design. in the pencil shavings, in the blueberry waffles. the vintage dress, framed portrait, old postcard.

design is inevitable. celebrated. design for mankind.
