missed.

Just another one of those totally awesome installations that are floating throughout the world. This one? Straight from Australia, specifically displayed at the Melbourne National Museum.

Created by Duke Albada, 'Missed' can be explained in a simple paragraph:

A memorial for all visitors to temporarily claim as their own.
The visitors express themselves via writing on a sheet of steamed up-misted glass.
The writing slowly dissolves as the steam reclaims territory.

Man, those Aussies have got it down.

this is one of those great ideas that start with something so simple -- I used to write on my shower doors backwards and then when i got out, checked if i did it right! =)

HA, Jessie--- that is SO cute.

And THANKS, Joanna!!!!

because beauty lies in the details of design. in the pencil shavings, in the blueberry waffles. the vintage dress, framed portrait, old postcard.

design is inevitable. celebrated. design for mankind.
