self-promo.

The Treetings made me do it.

I wasn't going to spread the word, but I'm just so excited that I can't bear to keep it inside my anxious little head. MATTE STEPHENS just purchased his very own set of Treetings. [congrats on the new site, by the way, matte!]Yes, Matte Stephens, the heartthrob of all heartthrob artists. If Design for Mankind was a high school, he'd be the Homecoming King, Quarterback AND Most Likely to Succeed.

True.

So naturally, I'm on cloud nine until I find out today that I have yet another order. An order of 5,000. Keep in mind, my little old Treetings are HANDMADE and I cut each and every tree out from scrap paper. That's a whole lot of trees and a WHOLE lot of scraps.

I've got three weeks--- think I can do it?

of course you can do it! Congrats on your supersize order. Cutting paper is soooooo much fun, one of my favorite things, in fact.

Congrats on your orders!! 5000 - wow, that is something!!! Of course we want to hear something like this. And yes, you can do it! My only advice is (it may sound so motherly)to remember eat well (fresh fruit, berries & salads) and have a little walk regularly to get fresh air. I´ve noticed that for me it helps to gain more strenght if I have to work hard and there is not much time for sleep. I hope this helps. ; )Good luck!

Congrats on both! 5,000 is a LOT to handle but I'm confident in your abilities as I know you are always juggling several projects at once.

Still... better stock up on some good hand creme.

Holy Cow! Some order! You can do it!

I had a similar instance with a custom cookie order - 100 dozen didn't sound like too much but in three weeks...after the first three days of constant baking - I folded.

Cards are much more fun to make!

Shut up shut up shut up shut up shut up!!!!!!! I am so excited for you! I knew someone would discover you and your greatness! If there is any help I can give you from here, I hereby offer it. Send me paper and I'll cut out tree trunks or fold the cards or whatever would be most useful. I have eight hours a day of sitting behind a desk, and no one cares what I do as long as I answer the phone. I'm the perfect (free!) manual labor!

OH gracious; you ladies are the sweetest things in the entire world. If we all lived in L.A., I'd invite each and every one of you over for a stationery party and we'd gossip and laugh and eat LOTS of brownie batter.

What a wonderful day! :)

Thanks for your support, everyone. You are too much.

Jennifer-- Yes, for a retailer.
And Mirka-- that is EXCELLENT advice! :)

great job! looks like such a fun project, there's nothing I like more than working with paper - cutting, folding, printing, the entire process is addictive!

maybe this is obvious, but you should probably get some help. i received an order for 2,400 handmade cards with a tight deadline, and my husband, who is not very crafty, was very helpful. if i lived in la, i'd help you.

/// said...

Cindy--- No, you're totally right! My husband and I are arranging an assembly line as I type this! :)

THANKS for the tip!

Wow. If you're looking to outsource I know just the man for you. He has a lot of time on his hands...

welcome.

because beauty lies in the details of design. in the pencil shavings, in the blueberry waffles. the vintage dress, framed portrait, old postcard.

design is inevitable. celebrated. design for mankind.
