new banner, new look.

I think most of you know that Design for Mankind has been going through some growth spurts this past year, and what started as a tiny blog this past August has multiplied leaps and bounds! Design for Mankind has a new readership of roughly 1,500 subscribers daily, which is HUGE for me. I still can't get over the fact that you readers care what I have to say, but I thank you for it.

So, to give back to you, the design community, I'm doing my best to meet your needs. A lot of readers feel that there is a lack of art coverage in today's blogs as interior design is increasingly popular, and because I'm SO passionate about art, I have a few projects in the works that I think you're going to LOVE.

The biggest change you'll see in the next few weeks is that Design for Mankind is moving servers and hosts, which means a NEW web address. Feel free to update your bookmarks at anytime to the following: http://www.designformankind.com. For now, the site will maintain the same format you're used to, but be prepared for some updates within the month. Feel free to forward any concerns or questions to erin@designformankind.com in the meantime.

I'd LOVE love your input on the future of Design for Mankind, so feel free to drop me a line with any feedback you'd like to give. I'm so excited for you to be involved in the growth of Design for Mankind, and thanks SO much for your continued support.

Special thanks to Rebecca Horwood (my favorite artist) for my new banner. Head on over to This Chicken to view her work!

Congratulations on your blog growth! Wow! And I love the new banner...it's very classy and clean and still shows your personality. I agree...I love the interior design blogs, but sometimes I need different eye candy...so art coverage would be great. Particularly, I love to read about the artists themselves and how they came up with a particular piece and/or what inspires them. I also love to read about where they came from in their career past and how they got where they are now. Love your blog!

Congratulations with your succes, very happy to hear about it! And the new banner is very good. And yes, I like your idea of introducing more art as well. As I´ve graduated in history of art, it warms my heart to see intros on that subject, too. Thanks!

Awww, THANK YOU! :)

welcome.

because beauty lies in the details of design. in the pencil shavings, in the blueberry waffles. the vintage dress, framed portrait, old postcard.

design is inevitable. celebrated. design for mankind.
