maxwell loren holyoke-hirsch.
Whew. Big name, big artist. Or should be, at least.
Maxwell's got this eccentricity about his work that makes me ABSOLUTELY melt. It's something about his bold use of color and his rough, sketchy illustrations that, combined, make the most uber-cool pieces.
I've been craving his prints ever since I spotted him on Tiny Showcase like, forever ago--- how long ago WAS that, even?
Anyway, shop to it on his site, or check out more of his work if you're not immediately entranced. Trust me, give it a second.
You will be. ;)
welcome.
design is inevitable. celebrated. design for mankind.

luv these -- so dreamy and there's an immediacy with the visible strokes....also they're like those ink dot works that combine black and colored ink. =)

I was also going to say that these works have something very dreamy in them. At the same time so tender and yet very powerful.
I also love your previous posts of other artists. There is so much to see in this world! Thanks for sharing. - February 18, 2008 at 12:41 AM

You're so right, Jessie and Mirka. They're very dreamy!
And Jessie--- I have NO idea what 'immediacy with the visible strokes' means (you are TOO smart), but it sounds right! :)
Kat and V--- THANK YOU for my fun awards! :) - February 18, 2008 at 9:46 AM
