reader's write: name that lamp!

Millie, a faithful DFM reader, just commented on a recent post featuring the Hotel St. Paul in Montreal, pictured below.

She wanted to know where exactly she could find such fabulous lamps, and you know what that means? Scavenger time!

Millie, I didn't find an exact match, but I think the below options will give the room a similar feel. And readers, if you know the designer of Millie's dream lamps, please let us know!

Stacked Ball Acrylic Table Lamp, available here for $99.99.

Polished Steel Table Lamp, available here for $89.91.

Silver Circle Lamp, available here for $300.

Clay Gourd Lamp by Barbara Cosgrove, available here for $435. [in white]

Mmm I love all those stacked ball lamps that have been everywhere lately. I dread the day when they aren't trendy anymore.

Thanks for the search on my behalf. I am curious to find out who makes these. However, the Barbara Crosgrove lamps are so fab I could be satisfied with these instead.

I don't have a helpful suggestion as per the designer. I just wanted to say that my mom picked up one of those exact lamps in a junk shop! It's made of marble and really lovely in person. I'll ask her if there's any clues on the lamp and get back to you.

Sarah, Peggy and Kelly: I love them, too. Remember when they were in Miranda's bedroom from Sex and the City--- like YEARS ago?

Fell in love then. And still loving. Hmm, I think I have over-commitment issues. :)

And Millie: ANYTIME, girly!

And Blythe: That would be AWESOME. Keep us posted!!!

Hi Millie / design for mankind

I work for designhotels.com the company that represents the Hotel St.Paul where those lamps are featured.

I contacted the hotel to find out for you, but sadly the only information on those lamps I could obtain was that they were picked up from a non-specified antique dealer in Paris.

If I get anything else, will come back and tell you.

welcome.

because beauty lies in the details of design. in the pencil shavings, in the blueberry waffles. the vintage dress, framed portrait, old postcard.

design is inevitable. celebrated. design for mankind.
